How can I change an overlay?

There are two ways to change an overlay

1-The solution you can use most of the time (except when the render mode is on or the overlay type is rectangular):

Clicking the three-dot button (27) in the corner of overlay opens a menu with 3 options in front of you. Clicking the “change” button (28) opens the list of overlays in front of you, from which you can choose an Image or text.

2-Solution that you can only use in edit mode (But it also works in render mode or rectangular overlay):

By clicking the “change” button (29) in the list of buttons in this state, the list of overlays will appear, where you can also select your preferred overlay.

How can I attach an overlay to another?

There are two ways to attach an overlay to another one

1-The solution you can use only on rectangular overlays:

Clicking the attaching button (30) in the corner of the rectangular overlay opens the list of overlays in front of you, from which you can choose an Image or text.

2-The solution you can use only while in edit mode, but it works with all overlays:

By clicking the “Attach” button (31) in the list of buttons in this state, the list of overlays will appear, where you can also select your preferred overlay.

When you select an item, it will be attached to the overlay. You can see the connection between these overlays with an arrow pointing to the anchor overlay.

How to only see overlays without any extra lines?

You can only see overlays without extra lines by clicking on the Render button (32) PutEmoji goes into the render mode and you can only see the things that affect the exported video. ( In rendering mode, the line around the selected overlay is still drawn)

How to delete an overlay?

There are two ways to delete an overlay

The first way you can delete an overlay is to click the “Delete” button in the edit state. (33)

The second way you can delete an overlay is to click the three-dot button (34) in the corner of the overlay. When you click the “Delete” button, the overlay will be removed. (35)

You might have noticed that there are three types of overlays in PutEmoji based on movement:

KeyFrame Type (Purple Border) is an overlay created by Keyframe methods

Record Type (Red Border) is an overlay that you create in record mode by moving your finger

Tracker Type (Pink Border) is an overlay that you create using the tracking (object or face) feature.

Attaching Type (A color is selected from the anchor overlay) is an overlay that you create by attaching overlays

Tracker-Pink

Record-Red

KeyFrame-Purple

In addition to the frame-by-frame editing mentioned earlier, there are several more editing tools for keyframe overlays in the KeyFrame tutorial.

That’s why you can convert the two Track and Record overlays to KeyFrame by using the Convert button.

Since keyframe type editing was much easier than other overlays, you can convert other overlays into keyframe type.

How To Change Overlay Type Based On Movement?

First, click the “Convert” button. (36) A dialog will appear in front of you. Here you can specify the number of keyframes per frame, for example: (37)

if you enter 10 here, one keyframe will be added every ten frames to the overlay.

If you check the “Revise Data” option, the app reviews all the overlay information and this information will change based on the added keyframes. As a result, the overlay moves more smoothly. When you enter all the necessary information, click “Convert.” (38) And now you can edit KeyFrame overlay. See the KeyFrame tutorial for more details.

See the result:

How to change the size and location of an overlay across multiple frames?

In this tool, you can modify the filter in just one frame, and the changes will be applied to the filter in the remaining frames of the video that contains the filter To activate this option, click on the “Apply to all” (39) button after clicking on the overlay you wish to edit. All changes to the overlay will now be applied to the entire overlay at all times it is present in a scene. As an example, if you halve the overlay width in a certain frame and move its position 10 cm down and to the right, in all frames that contain the overlay, its width is halved and it also moves 10 cm down and to the right from its original position. When you are done, just click the “EDITING FINISHED” button to disable it Now you can see the result of your work (40)
